fall home tour

I'm excited to be part of the modern and fresh fall home tour series created by Kristen and Lindsay. It's been a fun month seeing all the great inspiration, check out the pinterest board for all the photos!

Yesterday Sarah from Lacquer and Linen did a great job, I really love the rocker in the below photo, so cozy! Make sure you check it out and tomorrow is Sarah from Royal Marigold.
My tour is going to be a little different, I'm not much of a 'fall decorator' but we are hosting thanksgiving (yikes) this year so I've been focusing on some DIY's that are fun but don't look too traditional 'fall'. More modern and fresh which totally works with the modern home tour right?
One of the first projects I tackled was a DIY dyed burlap table runner. I LOVE it. It was such an easy DIY  and added so much fun to our table. I don't love typical fall decor but I wanted a fun modern tablescape and this is perfect.
I used some copper spray paint on some pumpkins and sticks from the pumpkin's DIY that I'll share in a minute and I love the blue with the copper.

I'm blogging about the how-to for the dyed tablerunner tomorrow so make sure to check back!

The next project I tackled was a fun happy fall banner. This was such an easy DIY and I love the way it turned out!
I found the cutest gold alphabet stickers at Hobby Lobby and grabbed some felt and string while I was there.
Cut the felt into strips...
And then in a banner shape
Fold over the banners and hot glue on the string. You now have your banner!
I did three layers and just stuck the stickers to the string on the middle layer. Voila!
 Happy Fall!!

I also figured if the front porch looks decorated then it counts for the rest of the house right? I used some copper spray paint in different patterns to the pumpkins I picked up at our local patch.
The copper paint is different then the usual gold and I love the sheen.
We are officially fall ready around here. Thanks to Kristen and Lindsay for asking me to be a part, its been really fun!
Make sure you follow along for the rest of the month!
