We have this nook where the ceiling drops and its the perfect place to have a corner banquette. I've had this image saved for almost a year as the perfect inspiration for what I want.
The most exciting part about my kitchen plan for me at least is my new in the works table. Here's the story. So we've been needing a table like whoa. As in, I'm tired of hitting my knees on the table legs of our old table and having to do the jump in and slide to avoid the legs. I knew I wanted a tulip table- but I wanted one made out of wood. Something different. And it didn't exist, at least anywhere I could afford it. Well I'm blessed to have a cabinet maker as a father in law and he offered to make me one for my birthday. BEST BIRTHDAY EVER. So right now we are in process of perfecting the proportions and finalizing the design. I can't freakin wait!
Here is where we are now. Linoleum needs to be ripped up and wood floors underneath painted, art needs to happen between sconces and banquette needs to be designed and built. (You see what I mean about banging your legs if you try to sit on the banquette? Can't wait to get the tulip in place)
We are actually a long way from finish but I wanted to be real about where I am and where I am going. Its still my favorite place to sit and have tea in the mornings. One step at a time.
xoxo

ReplyDeleteIt's going to look so good! I've always wanted a banquette. I eat on the couch 90% of the time because I hate chairs.
